Minnesota (-10, 42½) vs. Syracuse: The Golden Gophers won and covered their last three bowls. Minnesota is 6-1-1 against the spread in its past eight games vs. nonconference opponents, and the under is on a 9-4-1 run. The Orange closed the season 1-5 straight up and ATS, and they failed to cover four straight as an underdog. Edge: Minnesota and slight to under.

Oklahoma vs. Florida State (-9½, 66½) : The Sooners won and covered two straight bowls. Oklahoma went 3-6 SU and 2-7 ATS to close the regular season. The Seminoles won their last five SU (4-1 ATS) and covered eight of their final 11. Edge: Florida State.

Washington vs. Texas (-3, 67½): The Huskies went 10-2 SU, 7-5 ATS under first-year coach Kalen DeBoer. The past two seasons, DeBoer’s teams are 20-5 and 3-0 as an underdog, with the over on a 9-3-1 run. The Longhorns were 8-4 ATS, with the over going 4-1 in their last five. Edge: Washington and over.

#1 Purdue is -36.5 vs Florida A&M

Anyone have the cojones?
I don't know.. - 36.5 lines I think is just very insulting for Florida A&M.

Minnesota and Syracuse feature standout running backs in Mohamed Ibrahim and Sean Tucker but only one star will actually play in Yankee Stadium.
Ibrahim will attempt to complete his remarkable comeback from a ruptured Achilles on Thursday when his Golden Gophers make their first appearance in the Pinstripe Bowl against the Orange, who hope another running back can compensate for Tucker's absence.
Last season, Ibrahim was injured in the opening game against Ohio State after rushing for 1,076 yards in seven games during the 2020 season. This year, he was the nation's fourth-leading rusher with 1,594 yards and a finalist for the Doak Walker Award. His 19 rushing touchdowns were tied for second in the nation.
"I know what he's going to bring," Syracuse linebacker Marlowe Wax said. "He's tough. ... He has a different type of vision. He sees different holes, cutbacks. I know everybody is going to get to the ball, all 11, because we know he can break one any time. It's going to be a great challenge."
Minnesota (8-4) has won four of its past five games since an October lull. Ibrahim posted 10 100-yard games this season, including a 263-yard performance against Iowa, 178 against Northwestern and 202 against Colorado.
"He's meant everything to the program, everything to me," Minnesota offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca said. "He's the best back I've ever coached and been around. I feel lucky to have been around him.
While Minnesota was ranked 11th nationally in rushing yards per game (218.2), its 185.9 passing yards per game were 114th as the Golden Gophers used three quarterbacks -- Tanner Morgan, Athan Kaliakmanis and Cole Kramer. Morgan has not played since Nov. 5 against Nebraska when he sustained an upper-body injury.
As for Syracuse (7-5), Tucker will watch his teammates from the sidelines after declaring for the draft on Dec. 17. His 3,182 rushing yards were the third most in school history behind Walter Reyes (3,424) and Joe Morris (4,299).
This season Tucker's 1,060 rushing yards were third in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and he had 11 of his 27 career rushing TDs to help Syracuse reach its first bowl game since 2018.
Without Tucker, Syracuse's top rushers were quarterback Garrett Shrader (406 yards) and LeQuint Allen, who gained 112 of his 180 yards against Wagner on Oct. 1.
The Orange face a Minnesota defense that allowed the second-fewest points (13.3) in the Big Ten and ranked 15th nationally in rushing yards allowed per game (105.8).
"They're a really good defense," Syracuse offensive coordinator Jason Beck said. "Their 4-2-5 structure, really aggressive, really physical. They have really good players. It's going to be a great matchup for us to be able to put our guys in successful situations, to be able to move the ball and score points.
The Orange won their first six games and were ranked No. 14 before a five-game losing streak but cemented their bowl appearance by scoring 26 straight points in a 32-23 win at Boston College on Nov. 26.
Minnesota has won three of five all-time meetings with Syracuse, who won the most recent tilt 21-17 in the 2013 Texas Bowl.

The last time Florida State and Oklahoma met in a bowl game, the stage was much larger.
It's been 22 seasons since the Sooners knocked off the Seminoles 13-2 to win the 2000 national championship.
But when No. 13 Florida State and Oklahoma face off in the Cheez-It Bowl on Thursday in Orlando, Fla., both teams will have plenty of opportunity to make a year-ending statement.
The Seminoles (9-3), back in a bowl after a two-year absence, are looking to finish a season with 10 wins for the first time since 2016.
"It would just mean everything just to this program, the guys, and to everybody that supports us," Florida State defensive tackle Dennis Briggs said of the possibility of winning 10 games.
The Seminoles won just eight games combined in Mike Norvell's first two seasons as head coach before turning things around this season. Florida State won its last five games of the regular season.
The Sooners (6-6) are looking to avoid finishing below .500 for the first time since 1998, the year before Bob Stoops took over as head coach and brought aboard Brent Venables as co-defensive coordinator.
Now, Venables is Oklahoma's head coach, wrapping up his first season.
It hasn't always gone smoothly, with the Sooners going just 3-6 in Big 12 play and dropping three of their final four games, with the lone win coming against Oklahoma State.
Oklahoma has been hit hard by players opting out for the NFL draft, including both of its starting offensive tackles -- Wanya Morris and Anton Harrison -- plus running back Eric Gray and defensive tackle Jalen Redmond.
Running back Jovantae Barnes is one of the players who figures to see his role expand significantly in the bowl game after playing behind Gray much of the season. He has run for 411 yards and four touchdowns.
"It's a new step," Barnes said. "I have a bigger role for this game. ... All season I've been building my confidence to getting this role.
"I feel like I'm ready, and the running back group is ready."
For Sooners quarterback Dillon Gabriel, the game is a return to a familiar place.
Gabriel played for UCF in Orlando from 2019-21 before transferring to Oklahoma.
While the Sooners have had plenty of roster turnover since the end of the regular season, Florida State comes into the bowl largely intact.
That includes quarterback Jordan Travis -- who threw for 2,796 yards and 22 touchdowns with just four interceptions -- running back Trey Benson and edge rusher Jared Verse, among others.
"Everybody's super focused, locked in, but you also have that sense that everybody's enjoying practice at the same time," Briggs said. "Everybody's attention to detail is spot-on."
Florida State is in the Cheez-It Bowl for the fourth time. The Seminoles won the inaugural game in 1990 when it was known as the Blockbuster Bowl, and won in 2008 and 2011 when it was known as the Champs Sports Bowl.
Oklahoma lost to Clemson in the 2014 game when it was known as the Russell Athletic Bowl.
The Sooners are in a bowl for the 24th consecutive season, second only to Georgia among active streaks.

No. 12 Washington and No. 20 Texas look to move closer to a return to national prominence when they square off Thursday in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.
The contest pits two of the nation's best offenses, although the Longhorns will be depleted on that side of the ball. Two of their top running backs -- consensus All-American and Doak Walker Award winner Bijan Robinson and key backup Roschon Johnson -- have both opted out.
Texas (8-4) won three of its last four games, including a 38-27 home win over Baylor in its regular-season finale on Nov. 25. The only loss in that stretch was 17-10 against College Football Playoff participant TCU on Nov. 12.
After missing the postseason in 2021 in coach Steve Sarkisian's first year with the Longhorns, Texas had a bounce-back season. The Longhorns' four losses this year were by a combined 18 points.
"We didn't get to go to a bowl game last year, we didn't earn it," Sarkisian said. "It's great that the team gets this experience against a really good opponent. You're always looking for ways to continue to develop your players. It's a win-win for us."
Texas still has plenty of firepower, with freshman quarterback Quinn Ewers triggering the attack and All-Big 12 honorees Xavier Worthy and Ja'Tavion Sanders his primary targets.
The 2022 Alamo Bowl marks the 58th all-time bowl appearance for the Longhorns, the third-most in the country behind only Alabama and Georgia. Texas owns a bowl record of 31-24-2.
The Huskies (10-2) are riding a six-game winning streak, including a 51-33 Apple Cup victory at Washington State on Nov. 26 to close out the regular season. Washington is making its first bowl appearance since the 2019 Las Vegas Bowl.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer led the Huskies back to the postseason and an improvement of six wins in his first year in Seattle. Washington's 10 wins were the most ever at the school under a first-year head coach.
"We're at the point now with this year's team where we feel that we can play with anyone. We really do," DeBoer said. "We feel like we're that championship-caliber football team, without a doubt. We respect all and fear none. That's really been something that's resonated with our guys, and the belief we have that we are that team and we are capable of that."
The Huskies are led by quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who finished eighth in this year's Heisman balloting. Penix has had a remarkable campaign, going the second half of this season as the nation's top passer and finishing with 4,354 yards through the air. He heads into the Alamo Bowl just 104 yards shy of the Washington single-season passing yards record.
The Alamo Bowl will be the Huskies' 41st bowl appearance.
Texas and Washington have played four times, with the Longhorns owning a 3-1 all-time record. The programs last met in 2001 at the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, where Texas overcame a 19-point deficit en route to a 47-43 victory.

December 29th

Minnesota -10.5 (-110), 2*
Washington +3.5 (-115), 2*
Washington ML (+135), 1*

Nothing to add for me today besides these three bets I posted this week. I lean over in the Washington game, maybe I'll add it later. 6-0 the last three days. I hope to go 2-1 today and keep moving in the right direction. Good luck.

BOWL SEASON

1* (4-2)(+2.80 units)
2* (5-2)(+5.00 units)
3* (2-2)(-2.10 units)
OVERALL (11-6)(+5.70 units)

3-1 picking up 2.80 units yesterday. The Arkansas choke job cost me a great day. I think the lines are right today, so doing another 10 point three team teaser and keeping it small and not forcing anything.

1* teaser risking 1.35 units to win 1.00 units
Minnesota -½ vs Syracuse
Florida St pick vs Oklahoma
Washington +12.5 vs Texas
